QUALIFYING ROUNDS FROM WINTER MATS

We are pleased to advise that our Winter Tee Mats Course (Winter Green Tees) has been registered with England Golf and WHS for Qualifying Rounds for both Ladies and Men with effect from 1st March 2024.

CLUB COMPETITIONS

For Club Competitions the Competition Status (Qualifying or Non-Qualifying) will be set by the relevant Competition Secretary. Player Sign In and Scorecard submission will be as normal.

GENERAL PLAY ROUNDS

For General Play Rounds the choice of playing Qualifying Rounds lies with the individual player following the process below

  1. Before commencing a round please SIGN IN on the Club System.
  2. Select the GENERAL PLAY ROUND option.
  3. You will also be asked to select if the round is to be QUALIFYING or NON-QUALIFYING. (A Qualifying round counts towards maintaining your handicap and will be recorded on your World Handicap Record which you can view via the EG App. A Non-Qualifying round will not be recorded on your World Handicap Record).
  4. Select the “VIVARY WINTER” course option.
  5. On completion of your round please enter your scores into the system as usual.

WINTER RULES (PREFERRED LIES & TEMPORARY GREENS)

Qualifying Rounds may be recorded using Preferred Lies defined as follows:

When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less (i.e. not in the rough) the player may prefer the lie within 6 inches.

Qualifying Rounds may be recorded when no more than two Temporary Greens are in place.

SCORECARDS, STROKE INDEX AND PAR.

The Stroke Index and Par for the Winter Course holes remain the same as those for the summer White / Red tees and scores should be entered on the current cards as usual.

Completed Scorecards are required to verify all Qualifying Rounds at Vivary so please complete, sign, and submit your cards as usual to the office for verification.

(There are some variations in yardages but a yardage table for the Winter Courses will be posted in the Clubhouse. Details will be included in the next print run of cards).
