Match Report: The Stephenson Cup

Format: Greensomes

Date: Sunday, 31st May 2026

Father-Son Duo Dominates the Field

It was a sensational Sunday of scoring at the club as a packed field turned out to compete for the prestigious Stephenson Cup. Playing under the tricky Greensomes format—where both players tee off, choose the best drive, and then play alternate shot to the hole—partnership chemistry is everything.

Nobody proved that quite like our newly crowned champions, who turned the competition into a family affair.

The Podiums

  • 🏆 Champions: Duncan & Bob Stout – 58.0 net (7 under Par)An absolutely blistering round of golf from the father-and-son duo! Duncan and Bob were in total sync from the first tee to the final green. Shooting a spectacular net 58.0 ($7$ under par) in an alternate-shot format is phenomenal golf, completely blowing the rest of the field away to claim the Stephenson Cup in style.
  • 🥈 Runners-Up: Jamie Dixon & Joe Quartly – 61.0 netJamie and Joe put together a superb round that would normally be more than enough to win silverware on any other weekend. Their net 61.0 was a fantastic effort, earning them a highly commendable second place.
  • 🥉 Third Place: Rob Bartlett & Gavin Dixon – 63.0 netThe battle for the final podium spot was fierce, but Rob and Gavin combined beautifully to sign for a rock-solid net 63.0, edging out the chasing pack to secure third.

The Verdict

The Greensomes format can easily test friendships and scorecards alike, but the field rose to the occasion with some incredible scoring. A massive congratulations to Duncan and Bob Stout for a truly memorable family victory—seven under par is a masterclass that will be talked about in the clubhouse for a while!

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the event.

On to the next one!
