The Vivary Park “Junior Seniors” today enjoyed a memorable victory in the final of the Somerset Seniors Rosebowl soundly beating their local rivals Taunton and Pickeridge by 31/2 to 11/2 at Enmore Golf Club.
This was the first time that Vivary had lifted this trophy since 2010 and is a remarkable feat for a club that has only 50 members in its Seniors section.
Today’s team captained by Ed Cullen, was Mark Pavey, Dave Skinner, Mark McKenna, Kev Manning, Steve Wilson, Robbie Miller, Nigel Hutchings, Graham Stagg and Mark Payne.
Other squad members who played their part in earlier rounds were Colin Dyke, Bob Stout, Jim Kenworthy, Paul Short and Andy Woodford.
This win also sets up the possibility of an historic Vivary “Rosebowl Double” with the Main Club contesting the final of the Somerset Rosebowl against Oake Manor at Clevedon on 27th September. Come on Vivary!!
