Vivary March On To Rosebowl Semi-Finals After Gritty Away Victory

Match Result: Fosseway Golf Club 2 – 3 Vivary Golf Club

Vivary Golf Club booked their place in the semi-finals of the Somerset Rosebowl after securing a magnificent 3-2 away victory against a tough Fosseway Golf Club side. Playing away from home in a knockout format is always a stern test, but the Vivary pairings showed tremendous grit, focus, and clinical finishing to book their ticket to the next round.

The team got off to a flying start thanks to a masterclass performance from Daniel Jackson and Steve Wilson. The duo clicked instantly, dominating their match from the outset to record a resounding 5&3 victory and put the first crucial point on the board for the visitors.

Fosseway fought back hard in a series of incredibly tight, back-and-nine battles, but Vivary’s middle order held their nerve beautifully. Gary Bishop and Dave Andrews displayed excellent teamwork and patience to edge out their opponents with a hard-fought 2&1 win.

The home side clawed points back in two incredibly close encounters, with Vivary’s Kavan Butland and Nigel Hutchings falling just short in a tight 2&1 battle, while Brian Thomas and Robbie Miller Jr. found themselves on the wrong end of a 5&4 scoreline against an inspired Fosseway pairing.

However, the tie was ultimately sealed by the clinical partnership of Paul Short and Robbie Miller Sr. In a high-pressure environment, the pair produced some fantastic clutch golf down the stretch to secure a vital 2&1 victory, ensuring Vivary crossed the finish line with a 3-2 overall triumph.

It was a fantastic team performance defined by character and determination on foreign fairways. With the quarter-final hurdles successfully cleared, Vivary can now look forward to the Semi-Finals with plenty of confidence as they continue their march toward silverware.

Up next—the Semi-Finals!

Up the Vivary!!
